Guinness World Record : Longest Journey on a Motorized Bicycle

In 2016, our founder, Dr. Ravi Kempaiah, achieved a remarkable milestone by setting the Guinness World Record for the longest journey on a motorized bicycle—an epic ride of 8,209 kilometers over 34 days, averaging nearly 250 kilometers per day across the United States.

What stood out even more than the distance was the cost—charging the e-bike batteries for the entire journey cost less than $6 USD. This eye-opening realization underscored the immense potential of electric bikes as the future of commuting and travel.

Motivated by this transformative experience, Dr. Ravi Kempaiah joined forces with a team of skilled engineers and passionate innovators to bring Zen E-Bikes to life—ushering in a new era of efficient, affordable, and eco-conscious mobility.

The Birth of Zen E-Bike

Following his record-setting journey, Dr. Ravi Kempaiah continued to ride and refine e-bikes throughout his doctoral research, gaining deep insights into the needs and expectations of North American e-bike riders. This hands-on experience became the foundation of Zen E-Bikes’ design philosophy. Every Zen E-Bike embodies the same spirit of endurance and innovation—engineered with premium materials and powered by dependable, thoroughly tested technologies.

Zen’s journey was further strengthened by the invaluable technical and financial support from world-renowned scientists. With this momentum, the company was officially incorporated in Canada in November 2021, and by May 2022, Zen began assembling and delivering high-performance e-bikes to riders across the continent.
